Indictment against Boro Ivanović for the rape of a Bosniak woman in Foča in 1992

(Patria) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed an indictment against Boro Ivanović, born in 1946 in Foča, a citizen of BiH, for crimes against humanity.

"The accused is charged that, as a member of the VRS, he acted contrary to the provisions of the Geneva Conventions on the protection of civilian persons during war and armed conflict, within the framework of a widespread and systematic attack by the VRS on the civilian Bosniak population of the Foča municipality.

He is charged that in 1992, knowing of this attack and that his actions formed part of that attack, using force and threats to the safety and life of the victim and members of her family, he repeatedly raped the victim, a woman of Bosniak nationality from the Foča area, thereby committing the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172, Paragraph 1, Item g) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with Article 180, Paragraph 1 of the CC BiH," the Prosecutor's Office of BiH stated.
