Seven charged for selling fake museum tickets, earning 150,000 KM

(Patria) - The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo confirmed the indictment of the KS Prosecutor's Office against Jasmin Mešković, president of the Association of Camp Detainees of BiH and deputy president of the Association "Bosnian Museums of Remembrance", Suada Nožić, president of the Association, Senad Jusufbegović, president of the Association's Assembly, and museum ticket sellers Midheta Šoljić, Šejla Bašić, Menvira Kmetaš Demić, and Senad Muhović, for the criminal offense of association for the purpose of committing criminal offenses in connection with abuse of position or authority.

The accused are charged with forming a group organized by Jasmin Mešković, who devised a plan in July 2017 to procure and sell duplicate tickets for the Association "Bosnian Museums of Remembrance" parallel to the sale of officially ordered tickets for the Museum of Crimes Against Humanity and Genocide in Sarajevo and Mostar.

They did not record the revenue from the sale of these tickets in their business books, nor did they deposit the money from the sales into a bank, but rather kept it for themselves. Thus, from June 2017 to mid-December 2019, they sold 21,588 tickets in museums in Sarajevo and Mostar, the revenue from which they kept for themselves, acquiring an unlawful property benefit in the amount of 148,328.94 KM. In the indictment, the prosecuting prosecutor proposed to the court the confiscation of the aforementioned property benefit from the accused.

At the same time, a ban on performing professions, activities, or functions for a period of ten years from the finality of the verdict was proposed for all accused. For the main trial, the court was proposed to hear 11 witnesses, three experts, and present more than 500 material evidence.
