Opposition from RS after meeting: We want the final agreement to be reached in Banja Luka

(Patria) - Opposition parties from Republika Srpska - SDS, PDP, and For Justice and Order - presented their views on today's meeting in Sarajevo with representatives of HDZ BiH and the Trojka (SDP, NiP, and NS).

The leader of PDP, Draško Stanivuković, said at a press conference that the people in the country live in fear and are afraid of what tomorrow holds.

- We want there to be no fear in this country, that life is something that is taken for granted, that coexistence is the most normal thing, and that every part of RS, FBiH, and the whole of BiH should develop - says Stanivuković.

He expressed hope for a sincere fight against crime and corruption, against a privatized state.

- A coalition cannot fit into a best man's building to have a situation where corruption and crime are taken for granted - states Stanivuković.

Regarding the continuation of talks with political parties from FBiH, scheduled for April 10, he expressed the wish that the final agreement be reached in Banja Luka.

- We from RS have expressed our desire for the next meeting to be in Banja Luka, and we believe in it. We will do our best to ensure that everything within our power, that the basic principles and the document we might sign, is done in Banja Luka. We expect to have something on paper, and if not, it will be very close to it - says Stanivuković.

Emphasizing that politics is a process and requires time, he added that "running a country is not a toy or foolishness".

- Whatever we agree on, that's how it must be, and that requires time - stated Stanivuković.

He also announced that PDP fully supports the appointment of Nebojša Vukanović as the Minister of Security of BiH.

The president of SDS, Milan Miličević, said that well-intentioned people met today, and the discussions were open and honest.

- When we talk about agreements, we are talking about a strong and stable Republika Srpska, but also about a functional Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the Dayton Agreement, the principle of three constituent peoples, and concrete results - stated Miličević.

He points out that he is not a proponent of elite, but of realistic and concrete politics - one that can bring visible improvements in the standard of living for the citizens of BiH.

- This was the first meeting in this format, and it is important to emphasize that. It is unrealistic to expect to have a completed agreement immediately, but I believe that at the meeting in Banja Luka, we will agree on concrete conclusions that will bring quick results.

Our goal is the continuation of the European path, concrete benefits for citizens, and a better standard of living. If we succeed in this, we will be on the right track - said Miličević.

The president of the For Justice and Order List, Nebojša Vukanović, stated that he expected more from today's meeting.

- We from the opposition are always concrete and correct, we have always been constructive, and we suffer the political consequences of all that.

We had the most fruitful Council of Ministers of BiH from 2014 to 2018. The processes are moving forward, it is important that we are not a destabilizing factor.

We offered a solution, how things will proceed, we will see, we have done what is up to us - said Vukanović.
