Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee Session Not Held Again: Only One Law on the Agenda

The session of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA has begun, but before it, the session of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee was not held again, so items requiring the committee's opinion were removed, writes Patria. Thus, the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Ministries and Other Bodies of BiH was removed from the agenda. The annual report of the HJPC was also removed.

The first session after the summer recess brought nothing new. We are in trouble again, and there is only one law on the agenda, and it will be considered at the proposal of MP Maja Gasal-Vražalica (DF) - amendments to the Law on Civil Service in BiH Institutions.  

Although Parliament was supposed to consider the Bill on Amendments to the Election Law of BiH (prohibition of war criminals from running for political office), proposed by Denis Bećirović (SDP), as well as the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH (prohibition of genocide denial), this will not happen today either, due to the postponement of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee session.

Today, MPs will only set a new deadline for submitting opinions on these proposals.

The previous session of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee was not held due to a lack of quorum, and this was the third attempt to hold the session. At the beginning of the first day of the session on Tuesday, Aleksandra Pandurević (SDS) and Momčilo Novaković (NDP-PDP) left, and then neither they, nor members Borjana Krišto (HDZ), Nikola Lovrinović (HDZ), Lazar Prodanović (SNSD), and Saša Magazinović (SDP) appeared at the meetings scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
