Operational Staff Continues to Monitor the Situation on the Ground

The Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies issued a statement regarding the announced gatherings of citizens, on the occasion of the anniversary of the events of February 7, 2014, reports the BH news agency Patria.

- In accordance with the Agreement on Assistance and Operational Cooperation of Law Enforcement Agencies and the Decision on the Formation of the Crisis Management Staff, by the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, the State Investigation and Protection Agency, the Border Police of BiH, the Federal Police Administration and the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, and in cooperation with the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, joint planned activities have been undertaken to prevent and suppress possible riots that could lead to disruption of public order and peace and endanger human lives and property.

In the implementation of planned activities, the Staff has also established contacts with other law enforcement agencies in BiH with the aim of more efficient coordination and exchange of information.

During the day, gatherings of a certain number of citizens were recorded in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica, Bihać and Mostar, where they addressed demands to the authorities in BiH. The gatherings passed peacefully and without incidents.

The Operational Staff continues to monitor the situation on the ground, collecting security-relevant information that could be useful for further planning and undertaking measures and actions within the competence of the agencies involved in the work of the Operational Staff.
