Old Town Municipality: SFF must remain a bright spot, we do not want the Chetnik movement promoted from our backyard

(Patria) - The Old Town Municipality of Sarajevo, as a long-term partner of the Sarajevo Film Festival,
most strongly condemns the organizers' oversight yesterday and the promotion of Radoš Bajić's film "Heroes of Halijard" within the "CineLink Drama Showcase Telekom Srbija" program, which portrays Chetniks and war criminal Draža Mihailović as positive characters.

"The promotion of content that glorifies the nationalist-chauvinistic movement of Greater Serbian
ideology, as well as the convicted war criminal Draža Mihailović, cannot be justified
by an oversight or the responsibility of a sponsoring company, as stated by the Sarajevo Film
Festival. The Old Town Municipality of Sarajevo expects the organizers to take full responsibility and undertake adequate measures.

We do not want messages promoting the Chetnik movement, glorifying a war criminal, rewriting history, and spreading revisionist propaganda, to which we are unfortunately increasingly exposed, to be sent from our backyard. We demand that the organizers of the Sarajevo Film Festival determine all circumstances that led to the shameful screening of the aforementioned film and respond adequately, so that such mistakes are not repeated in the future.

The least we expect from our partner, the Sarajevo Film Festival, is to issue a public apology to the citizens for this oversight, so that this festival may continue to be a bright spot in the history of our country and a source of pride for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Otherwise, it will call into question any future cooperation with the Old Town Municipality
of Sarajevo, which cannot support the promotion of content contrary to moral, human, and
civilizational values," stated the Old Town Municipality.
