Stari Grad Municipality Tightens Measures, New Rules for Weddings

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Stari Grad Sarajevo Municipality is tightening temporary measures introduced to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, which include restricted movement of citizens in the Municipality premises.

The temporary measures came into effect at the beginning of this week when the movement of citizens/clients was limited only to the Counter Hall area. In order to act preventively and limit the possibility of the spread of infection, as of today, the working hours of the Counter Hall are shortened from 07:30 to 16:00. Citizens are asked to come to the Stari Grad Municipality only in urgent and unavoidable situations, as the number of clients who can stay in the Counter Hall at the same time will be maximally limited.

A table with disinfectant has been placed at the entrance to the hall, and everyone will be required to disinfect their hands before entering. Employees in the Counter Hall work with protective masks and gloves.

Citizens, as well as employees of the Stari Grad Sarajevo Municipality, are warned not to come to the Municipality premises if they have a fever, cough, or show any other symptoms that may be related to the coronavirus.

We remind you, in order to prevent the spread of the virus, citizens/clients are not allowed to move inside the Stari Grad Municipality building. All services are provided in the Counter Hall, where the departments working with clients have deployed their employees. We emphasize, during the duration of the temporary measure, citizens should come to the Municipality only in urgent and unavoidable situations.

Given the recommendations of the Crisis Staff regarding gatherings in public places, the Stari Grad Municipality will not allow weddings of couples in larger groups during the temporary measure. Weddings will be able to be scheduled by future couples only in the presence of witnesses and a registrar until further notice. This measure applies to weddings held in the Wedding Hall of the Stari Grad Municipality.

Also, until further notice, it will not be possible to arrange for a registrar from the Stari Grad Municipality to go out to hotels, restaurants, or other locations where weddings and gatherings of a larger number of people are planned.

Given that in the previous days, a larger number of requests from clients seeking certain documentation to apply for public calls was recorded in the Counter Hall, the Municipal Mayor, Mr. Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, calls on all competent institutions that have issued certain public calls to extend the deadlines. In order to avoid crowds in the Counter Hall from citizens who wish to certify documents and apply for calls, it is necessary to extend the deadlines of current calls and advertisements, bearing in mind the new situation.

Citizens are asked for understanding and compliance with the temporary measures that the Stari Grad Municipality is implementing in the interest of citizens and for the protection of its employees.
