Stari Grad Municipality takes measures to protect clients and employees

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Stari Grad Sarajevo Municipality, as a responsible local self-government unit, acted preventively and took concrete measures to protect clients and employees from a possible coronavirus, as well as seasonal flu.

Namely, since two days ago, the movement of citizens in the Municipality building has been limited only to the Counter Hall where they are provided with necessary services. All services that work with clients have assigned one or more employees to the counters, thus reducing the possibility of the virus spreading through the building. This temporary measure was adopted due to the increased spread of seasonal flu, but also the danger of a greater outbreak of the coronavirus. For the next 30 days, the movement of citizens in the premises of Stari Grad Municipality is restricted, and employees working with clients in the Counter Hall use protective masks and gloves.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared a very high state of global danger from the spread of the disease, officially named COVID-19, which is facilitated by closed and crowded places. For these reasons, Stari Grad Municipality has taken preventive measures, and citizens can perform urgent tasks in the Counter Hall, instead of going directly to the competent services. Also, all other information related to municipal competences can be obtained in the Counter Hall.

Bearing in mind that the measure is in the interest not only of the citizens of Stari Grad, but also of the wider community, the Municipality thanks for the cooperation and understanding in implementing this temporary measure. Citizens can also contact the Municipality directly at the central info number 033 282 300. For the same reasons, the Info-press center of Stari Grad Municipality, located in Halači Street, will temporarily not be working.

We remind you, BiH has officially banned entry to foreigners coming from the highest-risk countries where the largest number of coronavirus cases have been recorded. The Border Police of BiH has issued an order to all field offices at the border crossings of our country to ban entry to persons coming from Italy, Iran, South Korea and certain parts of China, specifically Hubei province and the city of Wuhan, as well as Germany, Spain and France. So far, there are seven registered cases of coronavirus infection in BiH.
