Stari Grad Municipality supports the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the University Sports Society "Bosna"

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the University Sports Society "Bosna", and the Stari Grad Municipality will allocate 5,000 KM for the celebration of this significant jubilee, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The contract on the allocation of funds was signed by the Mayor of Stari Grad Municipality Ibrahim Hadžibajrić and the President of the Management Board of USD "Bosna" Emir Kadrić.

The signing was also attended by Vesna Šrepfler, Secretary General of USD "Bosna", who said that the celebration of this jubilee will last the entire year.

- All sports clubs, of which there are 20 in total, will organize special competitions on the occasion of the Society's birthday. Also, we have planned to hold a series of events, exhibitions, as well as the central event on December 7, which marks exactly 70 years since the founding of USD "Bosna" - said Šrepfler.

The President of the Management Board of USD "Bosna" Emir Kadrić thanked Mayor Hadžibajrić and the relevant department for the provided financial support, and highlighted the difficult and complex situation in which the Society, along with all sports clubs, finds itself.

- I sincerely hope that the state will change its attitude towards sports, clubs and societies, because it is incredible how much happiness sports successes bring to all of us. There is no need to invent a state system for supporting sports; let's just look at our closest neighbors Croatia, or Slovenia, where it really works perfectly - Kadrić said at the end.

The University Sports Society "Bosna" was founded on December 7, 1947, and includes 20 sports clubs, with the most prominent being the Basketball Club Bosna and the Handball Club Bosna, which are currently in a very difficult financial situation.
