Municipality of Stari Grad supported SFF with 20,000 KM

The Municipality of Stari Grad has also allocated financial resources this year for the needs of a higher quality organization and realization of the 22nd Sarajevo Film Festival. Today, the agreement on the allocation of funds was signed by the Mayor of the Municipality of Stari Grad, Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, and the Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, Mirsad Purivatra, it was announced from the Municipality of Stari Grad, reports Patria.

Initially, 10,000 KM was allocated for the needs of the most famous and most successful festival in this part of Europe, however, Mayor Hadžibajrić decided to help SFF with an additional 10,000 KM.

- The Sarajevo Film Festival is an event that everyone should be proud of, although unfortunately many do not think so, while neighboring countries would do anything to have such a world-class film festival - said Mayor Hadžibajrić.

Hadžibajrić said that some funds from state institutions that belong to the festival have not reached their destination.

- I am aware that many benefit from SFF, especially in the area of our municipality of Stari Grad.

The Director of the Sarajevo Film Festival, Mirsad Purivatra, expressed great gratitude to the Municipality of Stari Grad and Mayor Hadžibajrić, because according to him, the Sarajevo Film Festival exists because of such agreements.

- Our festival thrives most in the area of the municipality of Stari Grad, most of the meetings, which will result in future cooperation of festival participants, happen precisely in Stari Grad. Purivatra also said that every KM invested in SFF pays off manifold to the state.

- It is true that there have been many cuts in funds intended for the festival, and that is why this help is gaining importance. Our estimates say that for every KM invested in the festival, the state receives ten. Most of the festival visitors return to Sarajevo, especially because of the beauty of the municipality of Stari Grad, its heritage, but also what has been done in the last eight years - Mirsad Purivatra added at the end.

The Municipality of Stari Grad has so far allocated 104,000 KM for the activities of the Sarajevo Film Festival.
