Municipality of Novi Grad demands Europlakat remove inappropriate billboards from Sarajevo streets

The Municipal Service for Education, Culture, Sport and Local Integrated Development of Novi Grad Sarajevo has sent an open letter to the company Europlakat BH d.o.o. Sarajevo and the public regarding the outdoor campaign for the company HBO, demanding the removal of billboards with inappropriate messages from the streets, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- As the Service for Education, Culture and Sport of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo, a local community with 14 primary schools and around ten thousand students, we are obliged to express our concern about the campaign recently conducted on behalf of the company HBO. We believe it is unacceptable for billboards with lascivious content and messages to be located along the busiest roads, which passers-by of all generations see daily without any choice. When similar content appears on television programs, viewers who do not wish to watch it can change the channel, while in this case it is impossible. Furthermore, the messages on the aforementioned billboards directly negate the values that parents and teachers instill in their children, namely decency and polite expression. Therefore, we expect the Ministry of Education of Sarajevo Canton, the Pedagogical Institute, and school pedagogues to comment on this issue. We hereby demand that you remove the mentioned problematic messages from the streets of Sarajevo and thus show that the interests of children are more important to you than the financial profit you will achieve with this campaign - it is stated in the letter from the Service for Education, Culture, Sport and Local Integrated Development of the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo addressed to Europlakat BH d.o.o. Sarajevo.
