Municipality of Novi Grad finances transport for students with disabilities from five specialized institutions

Beneficiaries of the Center for Blind and Visually Impaired Children and Youth, the "Mjedenica" Institute for Special Education and Upbringing of Children, the "Vladimir Nazor" Center for Upbringing, Education and Rehabilitation, the School for Secondary Vocational Education and Work Training, and the Center for Auditory and Speech Rehabilitation, along with their escorts, will have their transportation covered, financed by the Municipality of Novi Grad.

The director of the "Vladimir Nazor" Center, Zulfo Ahmetović, expressed gratitude to the Municipality, which finances the transportation of children attending specialized institutions every year.

- This support is truly of great importance for the educational process, i.e., regular school attendance, because without it, we would certainly have a low number of our students coming to school. This type of assistance is of great importance considering that over 90% of our students come from socially unstable families with very small budgets - Ahmetović said.

He added that in cooperation with the Municipality of Novi Grad, efforts will be made in the coming period to find even better systemic solutions for transporting children, so that parents are relieved of the obligation to bring and pick up children after the educational process.

Naim Salkić, director of the Center for Auditory and Speech Rehabilitation, emphasized the importance of the Municipality of Novi Grad's support for this population of students, primarily because they are in a very difficult economic situation.
