(Patria) - For the twelfth consecutive year, the Municipality of Novi Grad is allocating funds to co-finance the operation of the Early Growth and Development Center, which operates within the SOS Children's Villages organization in BiH. This year, the Municipality will support the Center's work with a donation of KM 45,000.00, which will enable the continuation of free professional assistance to children and parents from the community.
“I want to thank these people who care for the Early Growth and Development Center, and I am happy that we have such an organization implementing this very significant project. The funds that the Municipality is allocating this year for the operation of the Early Growth and Development Center amount to KM 45,000, and we can say that they will be spent beneficially for children and parents and their needs. When this project started, there were about 50 municipalities supporting the project; I think we are the only ones who have continued our support to this day. We will certainly continue to cooperate with SOS Children's Villages in BiH; they have very extensive and rich experience, and we want to work with them on this and similar projects,” said Tajib Delalić, Assistant Mayor of the Municipality of Novi Grad.
The Early Growth and Development Center is the first accredited and certified Center in BiH and has once again met all accreditation standards of the Agency for Quality and Accreditation in Healthcare in the Federation of BiH – AKAZ. The Organization expressed gratitude and emphasized the importance of support from local partners for all families in the community.
„The importance of the Early Growth and Development Center is multifaceted for families and the community. The main goal of these services is the early detection of any developmental deviations in children, the elimination of developmental delays if detected, and building the capacity of parents and guardians to care for their children so that they grow up healthy. Our team of experts, with their professional approach and dedicated work, contributes to achieving goals and common successes, which is why the continuous support of our local partners is important to us. Thanks to the Municipality of Novi Grad, we support over 300 children and 200 parents annually through the Center's activities, and precisely because of this, we can say that this is a common success,” stated Malik Garibija, National Director of SOS Children's Villages in BiH.
The SOS Children's Villages organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been providing care for children and youth without parental care for three decades, and through family strengthening programs, it assists socially vulnerable families and works to prevent the separation of children from their families of origin.
