Municipality of Ilidža Donates 700 Backpacks to First Graders

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Classes in the new 2020/2021 school year in primary and secondary schools in the municipality of Ilidža began on September 1, 2020. The first school days are very important for children and their parents, as well as for teachers. This year will be particularly challenging due to the coronavirus pandemic that our country and all countries of the world are fighting. In all primary schools, first graders were welcomed by classes in halls, courtyards, or school lobbies, in compliance with the adopted epidemiological measures.

This year, as in previous years, the Municipality of Ilidža provided backpacks for the first graders of Ilidža primary schools. Approximately 700 first graders were enrolled in the first grade in 13 primary schools in the municipality of Ilidža. The Municipality of Ilidža gifted backpacks with school supplies to all future students. The Municipality allocated 40,000 KM for the purchase of backpacks. On the occasion of the beginning of the new school year, the mayor, Prof. Dr. Senaid Memić, wished the first graders much success and happiness in their education.

Classes for elementary school students will be conducted in groups of a maximum of 15 students with 30-minute lessons, five-minute breaks, and no long break. Classes will be held according to the plan or schedule determined by the school. In classes where it is not possible to comply with the maximum allowed number of students, the school will make a schedule.
