Ilidža Municipality Takes the Last Major Step Towards the Restoration of the Old Railway Station

(Patria) - At the 28th regular session of the Ilidža Municipal Council, held on July 26, several important decisions were adopted, concerning the demarcation between the cadastral municipalities of Butmir and Hrasnica with neighboring cadastral municipalities.

However, the most important item was the adoption of the Decision on granting consent to the municipal mayor for concluding a contract for the purchase of real estate for the purpose of renovation and rehabilitation of a historical building, more precisely the building of the Old Railway Station in Ilidža.

In this way, the councilors of the Ilidža Municipal Council supported the finalization of the project for the restoration of the Old Railway Station as one of the national monuments in the area of the Ilidža municipality.

"With this decision of the Ilidža Municipal Council, the last obstacle to the restoration of the Old Railway Station has been removed. In the previous period, also with the support of the Ilidža Municipal Council, we have done a lot on the purchase of properties located in this national monument, to which we want to restore its old appearance but also find an adequate purpose and function," said the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur.

The mayor emphasized that the future reconstruction of the Old Railway Station will certainly improve the appearance of the central part of Ilidža and one of the busiest parts of this local community, but also enrich its tourist offer.
