Municipality Centar has been implementing the "Bread and Milk for Pensioners" project for five years

At the beginning of each month, 333 pensioners from the Centar area come to the Municipality's cashier and receive 50 KM each as part of the "Bread and Milk for Pensioners" project. How much this assistance means to the oldest population is shown by the fact that on the first day of the month, most pensioners come for the money before the start of working hours, it was announced from the Municipality of Centar, reports the B&H News Agency Patria.

- The project, which has been implemented by the Service for Work, Social Affairs and Health of the Municipality Centar for the fifth year, also includes 50 users in a state of social need over the age of 65 who have not qualified for a pension. All those who wish to qualify for this assistance can fill out an application, which they can obtain at the Info-point of the Municipality Centar, and submit it to the protocol along with the necessary documentation. After that, our mobile service team goes to the field and verifies the data. Priority in selecting beneficiaries of this assistance is given to persons who have qualified for subsidized heating costs, the right to care and assistance from others, and the right to a hot meal in one of the soup kitchens in the Sarajevo Canton - stated Mersida Veiz, professional associate in the field of social protection in the Service for Work, Health and Social Affairs, Refugees and Displaced Persons of the Municipality Centar.

The conditions that pensioners must meet to qualify for this assistance are to have a minimum pension, meaning that the total household income does not exceed 326 KM, they cannot be owners of motor vehicles or taxpayers, and the living space area for one household member must be up to 44 square meters, and with each household member, the permitted apartment area increases by ten square meters.

For persons over 65 years of age without a pension, in addition to the aforementioned conditions for a car, apartment, and tax obligations, they must also be users of permanent social assistance obtained through the Social Work Center of the Sarajevo Canton and must not have close relatives who are obliged to care for them.

In this year's budget of the Municipality Centar, the amount of 200,000 KM has been allocated for this purpose.
