Centar Municipality finances the purchase of a medical vehicle for Goražde

Centar Municipality Sarajevo has allocated 120,000 KM since last year to assist the Bosansko-Podrinjski Canton Goražde in the reconstruction of communal infrastructure and road communications destroyed in the major May floods, reports the Patria News Agency.  

This was stated by the President of the Centar Municipal Council, Nedžad Ajnadžić, at a meeting with representatives of this canton, held at the headquarters of the BPK Goražde Government.

– Our intention is to continue this cooperation. We plan, at your request and with the approval of the Mayor of Centar Municipality, Dževad Bećirević, to allocate funds from the municipal budget for the purchase of a medical vehicle for transporting patients with severe kidney disease. We know that your canton does not have large budgets, but you are achieving enviable results in employment and the development of economic entities, which can serve as a good example for future cooperation, said Ajnadžić.

The President of the BPK Assembly, Aida Obuća, presented data related to the development of this canton.

 – The economic situation in this canton is better today thanks to major investments in economic development from 2009 to 2014. The main interest of our government today is the capital project of building a quality road connection to Sarajevo, which would be of greatest benefit to our businessmen and potential investors. This canton consists of three municipalities, of which only Goražde is self-sustaining, while the other two municipalities depend on the cantonal budget. Therefore, we still need the help of strong municipalities, like Centar from Sarajevo, which have larger budgets than our canton, explained Obuća.

The meeting also discussed ways in which BPK Goražde has attracted major investors. It was stated that the previous convocation of the Assembly of this canton adopted the Law on Public-Private Partnership, and that economic entities willing to invest capital were granted locations for building facilities under extremely favorable conditions, with the obligation to employ a certain number of people from this area.

– All the economic development you see today is from our own resources, and we can only rely on our own strength, explained the Minister of Finance of BPK, Nudžeim Džihanić, adding that in the last two decades, the only capital investment built in the Bosansko-Podrinjski Canton was the bridge in Osanica, into which the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina invested 1,100,000 KM.

Councilors of Centar Municipality Zora Ostojić, Ahmed Gerin, Senad Alić, Haris Fazlagić, Jasmin Gazija, and Amer Kapo also attended the meeting with representatives of the Bosansko-Podrinjski Canton and Centar Municipality. At the end of the visit, the guests from Sarajevo visited the production facilities of the extremely successful company ''Bekto Precisa'', it was announced from Centar Municipality.
