Centar Municipality provides free transportation for 189 students

Although it does not have direct jurisdiction over education, the Centar Municipality of Sarajevo, led by Mayor Dževad Bećirević, has been allocating funds from its budget for many years to provide free public transportation for students who live at a greater distance from school, and where there are no adequate transport lines, in order to ensure they arrive at school on time and safely.

For the free transportation of students, the central Sarajevo municipality has allocated 56,000 marks from this year's budget.

The transportation will include 136 students from the first to the fourth grade of the "Alija Nametak" Elementary School, and 53 students from the first to the eighth grade of the "Mehmed-beg Kapetanović Ljubušak" Elementary School. The selection of the transport provider will be carried out by the schools, in accordance with the valid legal regulations, with whom the exact departure and return times of the minibuses will be determined.

The minibuses that will transport students of the "Alija Nametak" school will operate on the Panjina kula-Gornja Breka-Breka route, and for the students of the "Mehmed-beg Kapetanović Ljubušak" school on the Šip–Koševsko brdo–Braće Begić Street 19 route.

Transportation will be provided every working day from February 1 to June 14, 2016 (second semester of the 2015/2016 school year) and from September 1 to December 31, 2016 (first semester of the 2016/2017 school year).
