Municipality Centar Continues to Support the Construction of the Parents' House in Jezero

In the premises of the future Parents' House within the Pediatric Clinic of the University Clinical Center in Sarajevo, the Mayor of Municipality Centar Dževad Bećirević and the President of the Association "Heart for Children suffering from Cancer in FBiH" Lejla Kamerić signed a protocol on municipal donation in the amount of 20,000 KM, reports the Patria News Agency.

 

These funds allocated to the Association will be used for the continuation of the construction of the "Parents' House" in Jezero, where parents with children who come to the Pediatric Clinic for treatment and live outside the Canton of Sarajevo will stay.

Construction began in March last year. The value of the works is estimated at 1,200,000 KM, and for the completion of the project, another 250,000 KM is needed for the interior decoration and equipping of the facility.

- This is one of the most humane projects happening recently in the Municipality Centar, therefore it is our duty to provide financial assistance. Last year we donated symbolic funds, and we plan to allocate a certain amount next year as well, in order to complete the project and for parents of sick children who come from outside Sarajevo, and unfortunately there are many such children, to be able to stay here and be closer to their children.

Since these funds are not enough to complete the project, I call on all friends and people of good will to help build the Parents' House - said Mayor Bećirević.

Lejla Kamerić stated that the Municipality Centar should serve as an example to others, as this is one of the most significant donations.
