Centar Municipality still without budget: NIP Centar calls on Naša stranka to stop Mandić from violating the law

(Patria) - Centar Municipality still has no adopted budget for 2024, and an emergency session has been scheduled for February 19. It is known that the relationship between Mayor Srđan Mandić and the majority in the Municipal Council, led by the People and Justice Club, has been disrupted. It was NIP, together with several other councilors, who voted for the mayor's recall, but the referendum was never held due to administrative manipulations regarding the procurement of voting materials.

While NIP does not hide that they look forward to seeing Mandić's back, he announces his candidacy for the next term as a joint candidate of the troika. From the Municipal Organization of NIP Centar, they stated today that the mayor is not showing much interest in the most important financial document.

„The mayor delayed the preparation of the document almost until mid-February, and then sent the material and requested an emergency session on February 19. Considering the needs of citizens and all those directly tied to the budget, a Collegium was scheduled to determine the date of the session. However, the mayor, violating the Rules of Procedure, ignored the Collegium session, did not appear, nor authorized anyone to present the offered material. Instead, on Thursday, together with three assistants - deputies, whom he brought to the Municipality upon his arrival through unknown channels and based on what references, he went on a "business" trip to Montenegro for the Mimosa Days“, they state from NIP Centar.

Although, as they say, the Collegium of the Municipal Council had the possibility, because there was no authorized proposer, to remove the budget from the agenda, it did not do so but, considering the needs of the municipality's residents and budget users, scheduled the session.

„The mayor apparently did not care at all whether the session would be held or not, which he confirmed by not attending the Collegium. At the session, members of Naša stranka also voted for the conclusions and the date of the session, which in itself shows that they no longer agree with or approve of the attitude and approach to the work for which the mayor was elected“, they state.

NiP Centar calls on the leadership of Naša stranka to stop Mandić from daily violations of the law, the Statute, and the Rules of Procedure of the Municipality, because he is leading Centar Municipality into increasing uncertainty, which is most devastating for the citizens of Centar Municipality.
