Centar Municipality Allocates 30,000 BAM for the Home in Nahorevo

Mayor of Centar Municipality Dževad Bećirević yesterday signed a protocol on the realization of a grant in the amount of 30,000 BAM, which the municipality allocated from its budget for this health institution, at the premises of the 'Home for Social and Health Care of Persons with Disabilities and Other Persons' in Nahorevo (Nahorevska 195), reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The protocol was signed by Bećirević and Nafa Dizdarević, director of the Home. The director of the Home, with words of gratitude, said that the money will be used for the adaptation of the department where people suffering from dementia reside.

- Last year, Centar Municipality financially supported our cross-border cooperation project, thanks to which we gained valuable experience in working with sick people. Also, thanks to this cooperation, we soon expect a donation of 30 special beds for the accommodation of immobile persons from Germany – said Dizdarević, emphasizing that this is not the first donation that Centar Municipality has provided for improving the living conditions of the home's residents.

On this occasion, Mayor Bećirević said that Centar Municipality has helped socially responsible institutions, especially those dealing with the care of sick and elderly people.

– We have also planned an amount of 200,000 BAM in this year's budget for the first phase of reconstruction works on the premises at Titova 12, where the municipal Center for Healthy Aging will be located. When we open the Center, it will be one of the most representative places where elderly people can socialize and feel useful – said Bećirević.

The staff of the Home for Social and Health Care of Persons with Disabilities and Other Persons in Nahorevo takes care of 230 residents from all over BiH, 90% of whom are mentally ill persons.
