Centar Municipality Allocated 10,000 KM to the Institute for Sports Medicine

A protocol on the implementation of a grant in the amount of 10,000 KM, allocated from the budget of the Centar Municipality to the Institute for Sports Medicine of Sarajevo Canton, was signed yesterday at the premises of the Public Institution "Institute for Sports Medicine of Sarajevo Canton", reports Patria News Agency.

Osmo Babić, assistant to the Mayor of Centar Municipality for Labour, Health, and Social Affairs, attended the signing of the protocol on behalf of Mayor Dževad Bećirević.

"We will transfer the donated funds to the Institute's account as early as Thursday. We are extremely pleased to be able to assist other institutions with the aim of improving the living conditions of our citizens from the entire Sarajevo Canton, and especially from the central city municipality," said Babić.

After signing the aforementioned protocol, the Director of the Institute for Sports Medicine of KS, Amir Kreso, emphasized that the Centar Municipality has been a long-term donor to this health institution, and that the funds will be used to procure necessary materials for laboratory and biochemical tests for athletes, which are the most expensive part of the examinations.

"By purchasing reagents, we will improve the examination services and health protection for athletes, especially those from the Centar municipality who undergo specialist, preventive, control, and systematic examinations at the Institute. In general, out of the 20,000 registered athletes in our health institution, 10,000 regularly undergo examinations at the Institute for Sports Medicine of KS every year," said Kreso.
