Municipality Centar Donated a Valuable Instrument to the Clinic for Pediatric Surgery

The Sarajevo Municipality Centar donated a laparoscopic instrument worth 24,500 KM to the Clinic for Pediatric Surgery of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo, reports the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

Head of the Clinic for Pediatric Surgery Adnan Hadžimuratović said that the "laparoscopic tower" is now complete, which will make surgical procedures on children much more efficient and with fewer incisions.

- Surgeries with the new equipment will be much more efficient with fewer incisions, and children's recovery will be shorter, which will ultimately reduce the costs of hospital treatment - said Dr. Hadžimuratović.

- With the new equipment, we will initially perform less complex surgical procedures on children, and over time, with additional training, we will move on to more complex laparoscopic surgeries - he added.

And this is not the first donation from the Municipality Centar to UKCS. Since 2010, the central Sarajevo municipality has donated medical equipment worth over 540,000 KM to this healthcare institution. Within two months at the latest, the Municipality Centar will also donate three ambulances worth around 200,000 KM to UKCS.

Dževad Bećirević, the mayor of the Municipality Centar, said that the local community can contribute to the development of medicine and the improvement of treatment for citizens in our hospitals, instead of them seeking medical help in foreign clinics at enormously high prices.

The donation agreement between the municipality and UKCS was signed today by the municipal mayor Dževad Bećirević and the general director of UKSC, Dr. Damir Aganović, reports Patria.
