Municipality Centar donates gamma camera to the Clinic for Plastic Surgery of UKCS

Municipality Centar Sarajevo has donated a gamma camera to the Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of UKCS, thanks to which the quality of work of this Clinic will be improved.

An Agreement on the procurement and delivery of medical equipment was signed, and the signing was attended by the Assistant Head for Work and Social Affairs of the Municipality Centar, Osmo Babić, Director of Surgical Disciplines of UKCS, Prof. Dr. Haris Tanović, and Head of the Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of UKCS, Prof. Dr. Reuf Karabeg.

- We are extremely grateful to the Municipality Centar for this donation, which is just one of many donations to UKCS. The Municipality Centar is the largest donor to UKCS, and it is evident that they have recognized a way to help people and patients in Sarajevo, as well as in FBiH. In the past ten years of cooperation with this Municipality, equipment worth over one million KM has been donated to UKCS. By donating the most sophisticated medical equipment to UKCS, the Municipality Centar makes a huge contribution to the treatment of our patients - said Professor Tanović.

The Head of the Clinic for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of UKCS, Prof. Dr. Karabeg, emphasized that this donation will contribute to the improvement of work at this Clinic, and pointed out that UKCS now has three such devices.

- This device is used to detect the spread of early metastases to regional lymph nodes in breast cancer, melanoma, and other cancers, and is of exceptional importance for the treatment of our patients - said Karabeg.

- We are pleased that we have managed to collect the necessary funds and realize the procurement of this device as well. The procurement of the gamma camera was supported by the City of Sarajevo Administration and UKCS. In the budget of the Municipality Centar, we have also allocated additional funds for 2015, from which we will procure certain medical equipment for the Clinic for Cardiovascular Surgery and JIIT - stated the Assistant Head for Work and Social Affairs of the Municipality Centar.
