Municipality Centar to financially assist civil war victims in lawsuit against RS

The Chairman of the Centar Municipal Council, Nedžad Ajnadžić, held a meeting with representatives of the Union of Civil War Victims of Sarajevo Canton. Besides the representatives of the Union of Civil War Victims of Sarajevo Canton, its president Senida Karović and general secretary Muzafer Teskeredžić, the meeting was also attended by councilor Eso Tucaković and assistants to the mayor for labor, health and social policy, and for veteran-invalid protection, Osmo Babić and Đulaga Hamza, Patria reports.

The Union representatives informed Ajnadžić about the activities of this association, which has about 4,000 members in Sarajevo Canton, which is more than in the entire Federation of BiH due to the siege of this city where the civilian population also suffered. Of the total number of members, 1,200 are socially endangered. From the area of the Municipality of Centar, there are 395 members of this association with disabilities ranging from 20 to 100 percent.

- One of the priority projects our association is implementing is a lawsuit against Republika Srpska, which we initiated before the competent court. The costs of the lawsuit amount to 30,000 to 50,000 KM, and therefore, financial support is most important to us at this moment to complete this process. Sarajevo Canton has provided the amount of 20,000 KM, the guests from the Union explained.

Chairman Ajandžić stated that the Municipality of Centar will financially support the lawsuit against Republika Srpska.

- As the cantonal minister for veteran affairs, I allocated an amount of up to 50,000 KM from the budget for lawsuits filed by expelled persons against Republika Srpska, most of whom were from Eastern Bosnia. In the municipal budget for next year, we can plan a certain amount for this purpose. My proposal will be 10,000 KM, while the final figure must be approved by the Centar Municipal Council, Ajnadžić emphasized.

Councilor of the Centar Municipal Council, Eso Tucaković, also stated that activities have been initiated in Soukbunar, where this councilor comes from, who is also the president of the Council of this local community, to mark the places where entire families were killed during the last siege of the city and the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
