(Patria) - Konjic General Hospital responded after the news that on Sunday, September 7, an 11-month-old baby from Konjic died on the way to SKB Mostar.
"Regarding the unfortunate event, the death of an eleven-month-old baby from Konjic, and in connection with the articles that appeared in some media and portals, for now we can only deny the information that at the time of referring the baby to another health institution (SKB Mostar), the Konjic General Hospital did not have available ambulances and staff necessary for the transport of the patient (medical escort and driver).
Therefore, the hospital had both an ambulance and the staff necessary for the transport of the patient to another health institution available.
Given that an investigation by the competent authorities is underway, the Hospital fully cooperates with the investigative authorities to determine all circumstances of this event. We express our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased child and remain available for all necessary support and assistance.
In addition to respecting the public interest, the Hospital will not give statements or comments about the event until the investigation is completed, and we ask the media and the public for understanding and restraint in reporting," they stated for Novikonjic.ba from Konjic General Hospital.
