4,922 people have died from the Ebola virus epidemic in eight countries out of 10,141 infected, according to the latest data from the World Health Organization, reports the BH News Agency Patria.
The highest number of deaths are in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. In these three countries, by October 23, 4,912 out of 10,114 have died.
The total number also includes Ebola victims in Nigeria and Senegal, countries where the WHO declared the epidemic defeated, as well as isolated cases in Spain, the USA, and one case in Mali.
