Dangerous TikTok challenge also in Banja Luka: Police appeal to parents to pay attention to what their children are doing online

(Patria) - The Banja Luka Police Department announced that it has information that the dangerous so-called "Superman challenge" promoted by the social network TikTok, in which two children throw a third child into the air while recording themselves, is also present in the Banja Luka region.

"In order to prevent unwanted consequences, we appeal to parents/guardians to pay attention to their children's online activities and talk to them about potential dangers on social networks," the Banja Luka Police Department stated.

They also stated that they were informed that a minor sustained serious bodily injuries while performing this TikTok challenge, but fortunately is not in life-threatening condition.

"We draw attention to parents that, according to the business policy of the said platform, users of this network cannot be persons under 13 years of age, but unfortunately data indicates massive use of this application by teenagers, and even younger children," the Banja Luka police emphasized.

They added that it is therefore very important for parents to be well informed about this social network, its possibilities, and to take measures of supervision and technical protection, because TikTok itself offers settings options aimed at protecting minors.

Students in Sarajevo schools have not remained immune to this dangerous challenge spreading from TikTok, which has an increasing number of minor users.

Earlier this week, media reported that a boy in Sarajevo broke the bones of both upper arms while performing this challenge.
