Citizens' purchasing power declines: Market sales down by 24.7%

Sales of agricultural products at markets in August 2014 amounted to 2,613,659 BAM, representing a decrease of 857,338 BAM or 24.7% compared to August 2013, announced the Federal Institute of Statistics, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

In August 2014, the share of total sales of agricultural products at markets by product groups was as follows: vegetables 42.46%, poultry and eggs 11.69%, fruit 25.61%, potatoes 6.79%, honey and wax 3.56%, milk 2.07%, cereals 1.78%, and grapes 4.91%.

The total value of sales of agricultural products from own production by agricultural enterprises and farmers' cooperatives, and purchases of agricultural products from family farms in August 2014 amounted to 23,687,076 BAM, which is an increase of 2,180,401 BAM or 10.1% compared to August 2013.

The total value of sales of agricultural products from own production by agricultural enterprises and farmers' cooperatives in August 2014 amounted to 13,945,173 BAM, which is an increase of 2,861,460 BAM or 25.8% compared to August 2013.

The total value of purchases of agricultural products from family farms in August 2014 amounted to 9,741,903 BAM, which is a decrease of 681,059 BAM or 6.5% compared to August 2013.
