Once again, a large part of Bosnia and Herzegovina is under water, and some municipalities have been forced to declare a state of natural disaster, reports the Patria news agency.
As confirmed to NAP by the Mayor of Zavidovići Municipality, Suad Omerašević, rain in this municipality has been falling intensely since before midnight.
- It is still raining, and very intensely. Teams are in the field, and we were forced to declare a state of natural disaster. Heavy rainfall has caused secondary streams to create significant torrents. Three rivers have not yet reached critical levels, but secondary streams and creeks have caused significant damage to individual properties, and most of all to infrastructure, roads, etc. – says Omerašević.
He added that yesterday afternoon the road towards Zenica was impassable.
- We managed to restore some functionality, but on the regional road between Zavidovići and Žepče, as well as towards Banovići and Tuzla, we have blockades. Teams are in the field, but the situation is difficult – added Omerašević.
