OM BiH: Dodik confirmed he is ready to deny all citizens of BiH access to the open sea

The President of the BiH entity Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, reiterated his stance that this BiH entity does not oppose the construction of the Pelješki Bridge.

During a meeting with the Croatian Ambassador to BiH, Ivan Del Veki, today in Banja Luka, Dodik said that Croatia has the right to build infrastructure facilities on its territory.

The Open Sea of Bosnia and Herzegovina organization notes that Dodik, as the president of one of the two administrative entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has no authority to approve or block the construction of the Pelješki Bridge on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that this is exclusively within the jurisdiction of the BiH Parliament. 

Dodik, they further point out, has clearly indicated with his stance that he would be ready to deny all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina access to the open sea, had he been in a position to decide on it.

During the vote on the Resolution on the Pelješki Bridge in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, the representatives of Dodik's SNSD were against such a resolution, writes Patria.
