Storm carried away roofs in Bihać, heavier snow began to fall today

(Patria) - After a strong stormy weather that hit Bihać last night, as well as the Una-Sana Canton, heavier snow began to fall.

Strong winds last night caused significant material damage in the city. The wind carried away almost half of the roof of the newly built Luke hall, as well as the Mixed High School.

All services are on the ground, officials announced.

After an exceptionally warm morning in Banja Luka, snow began to fall, quickly covering the city on the Vrbas river in white.

At seven o'clock this morning, Banja Luka was among the warmest cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, the same as in Neum. After the south wind and rain, the temperature began to drop sharply, approaching zero around noon, and thick, large snowflakes quickly covered the streets, lawns, and roofs.

All winter service teams have been deployed, and the Banja Luka City Administration announced that roads are being cleared according to priorities to ensure smooth traffic flow.

"Given the heavy precipitation, the roads are wet and slippery, and an additional appeal has been made to drivers to be cautious and adjust their driving to the current road conditions. Also, a note for drivers – winter equipment is mandatory," stated the Banja Luka City Administration.
