Olympic rings and snowflakes across Sarajevo on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Olympics

(Patria) - In 1984, Sarajevo hosted the 14th Winter Olympic Games, which were held from February 8 to 19. Exactly this year marks 40 years since the event that put Sarajevo on the world's map.

This significant anniversary will be marked by a series of manifestations, events, and concerts, and the city has been specially decorated and adorned.

"By placing the Olympic rings on the central promenade in Veliki park and over 160 illuminated Olympic snowflakes at various locations from Stari Grad to Ilidža, the goal is to solemnly mark the 40th anniversary of the most significant sporting event that marked the history of our city and remind all Sarajevans, guests, and tourists of the unforgettable Olympic memories," announced the president of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board, Haris Fazlagić.

The 14th Winter Olympic Games were held within a 25 km radius, which was a special attraction for all participants. At the closing ceremony of the Games, Sarajevo received praise for being the best-organized Games up to that point.
