Round Table: Let's Be Swedes - Buy Domestic!

A round table discussion titled "Let's Be Swedes - Buy Domestic!" will be held at the "Europa" hotel in Sarajevo on November 29th at 6 PM. Journalist and writer Muhamed Mahmutović, one of the participants, explained to the Patria news agency how this idea came about.

-The idea for a round table of this kind was born during a conversation Goran Milić had with me, when I invited him to discuss the Dayton Agreement and related topics together on the occasion of Statehood Day. "Let's do something that will benefit our homeland and people," said the good Goran, and immediately gave a few pointers, says Mahmutović.

The idea was then communicated to Adis Hasaković, who is in charge of the complete PR for one of the most successful Bosnian companies, "Klas".

-When I shared the idea with Hasaković, it didn't take him long to recognize the benefit of such a round table, and he immediately said that our biggest brand, "Klas", would provide logistical support for this initiative.

I am especially pleased that Goran is here, one of the most recognizable media faces in the Balkans and beyond, who sometimes reflects on our reality with his writings and hits the core of the problem. This primarily refers to a responsible attitude towards domestic products, but we also include resources, intelligence, mentality, and diligence, which are not foreign to us, and much more. When these topics are opened and comparisons are drawn, it is not difficult to conclude that we have chances. This is also shown by the patron of this forum, "Klas", which is penetrating the Far East market and has flooded EU store shelves with its products, points out Mahmutović, adding:

-I know it's not easy to compare many things, due to the incomparably better economic situation in Sweden, but I am sure that they would do many things the way they do even if they were in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We must copy that mentality. That persistence and conviction that things can and should be better for us, that domestic is best!

There are many shops in Sweden that sell very good, for example, imported apples or strawberries! But those that say they are Swedish are twice or three times more expensive, and they sell much faster!

In Sweden, the "boss" is in most cases indistinguishable from the workers, and secretaries, drivers, bodyguards... are completely unknown! In Sweden, everyone is equal, no one is better than anyone else, and whatever you start doing, they encourage you, while in our country, there will immediately be mockery and demotivating words or even insults.

In Sweden, rules and order are strictly respected. You can't shout from across the hallway to the lady at the counter "hurry up, I'm in a hurry" if someone who is next in line takes a little longer to get answers to their doubts, etc.

We can adopt that and many other things immediately today, and make life less stressful for all of us, and thus be more productive!, says Mahmutović, inviting everyone who finds themselves in Sarajevo on November 29th to come to the "Europa" hotel for this round table.
