Ilidža turning loop being renovated for the first time since construction

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton Adnan Šteta, accompanied by the contractor and supervisor, visited the construction site of the future turning loop in Ilidža.



- The turning loop in Ilidža is a large construction site. Although the works are being carried out as part of the future tram line to Hrasnica, the scope, volume of work, and complexity at the turning loop can also be viewed as a separate project - stated Minister Šteta during the visit.

He noted that a lot of work has been done, that "much more awaits us," and added that the turning loop is being renovated for the first time since its construction.

- In the previous period, turning loops in Čengić Vila and Nedžarići, at the Railway Station, and in Skenderija were renovated, and experiences have shown that investing in the renovation of every part of the tram traffic is of crucial importance - said Šteta.



In addition to the construction of the turning loop in Ilidža, the construction of another turning loop on the new line, the turning loop in Hrasnica, is nearing completion. At the Ilidža turning loop, in accordance with the project, four buildings were removed after resolving property-legal relations.

Old rails and the contact network have been removed, and works are underway on drainage, the construction of three new, modern tram stops, the installation of poles, and many other works.

- This summer will be written in golden letters for Ilidža, as well as for the entire public transport of our canton, because after decades of talk and empty promises, the tram will run to Hrasnica.



We are not stopping; after we complete the construction of the line to Hrasnica, we will build the line from Nedžarići to Dobrinja - concluded Šteta.
