PROTESTS CONCLUDED Solidarity from the heart of Sarajevo: A message to Palestine - you are not alone

(Patria) - More than a thousand citizens of Sarajevo today participated in a protest march titled “Bosnia and Herzegovina for a Free Palestine”, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian people who are daily facing war, destruction, and the loss of loved ones.

The gathered crowd started from the Monument to the Murdered Children of Sarajevo (1992-1995), carrying Palestinian flags and banners with messages: “Stop the Genocide in Gaza”, “Free Palestine”, “Stop Killing Children”, “Israel Terrorist, Netanyahu Zionist”, and “Palestine, you are not alone”. The march concluded in the park between the Historical and National Museums of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the atmosphere was filled with sadness, but also determination.

Professor Lejla Kreševljaković from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Sarajevo described the scale of the horrors:

“The destruction in Gaza, in such a small area, is equivalent to eight atomic bombs. The number of injured, amputated, and killed is enormous. Physical and psychological recovery will take years. We in BiH know how much pain remains after war and genocide, and that is why we have a moral obligation to stand with Palestine.”

Humanitarian Boris Vitlačil warned of the dangers of a superficial ceasefire:

“The 20-point plan divides peace into stages, but each phase can be used for a new attack. The Palestinian people must not be forgotten, and the international community must act immediately. Every delay means new loss of life, new families in pain.”

The program also included an artistic performance – Larisa Musić performed songs dedicated to Palestine, actress Irma Alimanović interpreted the poem “Song of a Child and Silence”, and journalist Adnan Rondić read the demands addressed to the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The final moment was a joint performance of the song “Bella Ciao” with the choirs Seljo and Corus Cadenza, symbolizing solidarity and hope.

Citizens could sign a petition that will be sent to the competent institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which they demand active support for the Palestinian people and condemnation of violence.
