Session of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament concluded, several legal solutions adopted

(Patria) - A regular session of the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament was held in Sarajevo today, where several legal solutions were adopted.

Delegates adopted, under an expedited procedure, the Bill amending and supplementing the Law on Freshwater Fisheries, which implements one of the decisions of the Constitutional Court of the FBiH.

The relevant ministry stated that they are currently working on drafting a new law that will regulate this area in a better quality manner.

Among other things, the Bill amending and supplementing the Law on Nature Protection was also adopted, which, among other things, should simplify the procedure for declaring protected areas in the FBiH.

Several laws from the field of labor and entrepreneurship were adopted in the form of drafts, including: the law on mediation in employment and social security of unemployed persons, the law on social entrepreneurship, the law on public-private partnership, and the law on employment of foreigners.

Also, the Law on the Protection of Whistleblowers and the Law on Lifetime Monthly Compensation for Meritorious Athletes in the FBiH were supported in the form of drafts.

The House of Peoples concluded its session by accepting the conclusions and recommendations of the Committee for Gender Equality and the Committee for Human Rights and Freedoms, the implementation of which should enable the judiciary to respond more effectively to the increasingly pronounced phenomenon of domestic violence and gender-based violence.

The conclusion of the Committee for Economic and Development Policy, Finance and Budget of the House of Peoples was also accepted, which relates to the obligation to regularly review, at least once a year, the reports on the work and operations of public enterprises and institutions in which the FBiH has an ownership stake.
