Land Expropriation Completed: Last Winter Without Water for 200 Households in Nahorevo

Chairman of the Centar Municipal Council Nedžad Ajnadžić, along with advisor to the municipal mayor Mustafa Resić, visited the Stari Grad Municipality where they were hosted by Mayor Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, reports the Patria news agency.

Ajnadžić and Resić visited the Stari Grad Municipality to thank them for the successful cooperation so far regarding the resolution of the water supply issue for the settlements of Nahorevo, Nahorevska brda, Muharemovići, and Selja from the Klanice spring, which is located in the area of the Stari Grad Municipality, a basic prerequisite for the continuation of the project to build a new water supply system.

- The administration of the Stari Grad Municipality reacted very quickly and efficiently and completed the land expropriation procedure in their area, which is a prerequisite for continuing the procedure of obtaining documentation for issuing a building permit and announcing a public call for selecting the most favorable contractor, after which we can begin laying pipes, thereby finally resolving the water supply for the settlements in Nahorevo, said Ajnadžić.

Lejla Cerić, Assistant Mayor of the Stari Grad Municipality for property-legal, geodetic affairs, cadastre, and housing affairs, informed those present that this municipal service, based on the decision of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton declaring this project of public interest, carried out the expropriation of land.

– Based on the assessment of a court expert, we made an exception for almost two dunams of land through which the route of the future pipeline will pass, for which 37,000 KM will be allocated, thus our service has completed its part of the work. The possibility has been left for some additional settlements to be supplied from this spring. We tried to ensure that the planned pipeline route goes through uninhabited areas, stated Cerić.

Today's meeting was also attended by the President of the Assembly of the Association „Izvor života i zdravlja“ Fikret Čolić, who on this occasion, on behalf of the residents of Nahorevo and Nahorevska brda, thanked the representatives of the Centar and Stari Grad municipalities for their efforts in resolving this most vital issue.

– We hope that this will be our last winter without water for about 200 households in Nahorevo, said Čolić, as announced by the Centar Municipality.
