Exhumation completed at KCUS premises: Bone fragments, footwear, and a watch found

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Bone fragments, footwear, and a wristwatch, believed to belong to a victim of the past war, were found today during an exhumation on the premises of the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo. The exhumation was carried out based on information from a witness who claimed that the remains of victims transferred from the morgue of the Koševo hospital were located at this site.

The remains, as well as the found items, were transferred to the prosectorium of the Public Utility Company "Sveti Marko" in Miljevići, where forensic processing, including medico-legal and criminal-technical examinations, as well as the collection of bone samples, will be conducted to determine the victim's identity through DNA analysis.

The exhumation was conducted under the leadership of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and by order of the Court of BiH. Investigators from the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an anthropologist from the International Commission on Missing Persons, and members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton were also present at the exhumation.
