Drama in Germany ends: Macedonian who barricaded himself in restaurant taken to hospital

1:50 PM A Macedonian who has been living in Germany for a long time has been taken to the hospital. The incident in the Dubrovnik restaurant ended without injuries, local media report. It is believed that the attacker is the husband of the restaurant owner's daughter, officials added.

An armed, bloodied man barricaded himself today around 12:00 PM in the Dubrovnik restaurant in Saarbrücken, western Germany. Police negotiators and psychologists are on the scene and are trying to establish contact with the man, Bild reports, as reported by the Patria News Agency.

Anti-terrorist police have surrounded the building. It is believed that some staff managed to escape the building at the moment the attacker entered, and local media report that the German counter-terrorism police (SEK) are preparing to enter the building.

Police state that the armed man is connected to the restaurant and that, for now, it is thought that the incident does not have a political background.

According to unconfirmed reports from the scene, the man has psychological problems, and his identity is still unknown, writes RT. The police have cordoned off two streets to conduct the operation undisturbed, reports a local radio station.
