Okerić rejects opposition's request for urgent session of KS Assembly on security situation in Sarajevo

(Patria) - Speaker of the KS Assembly Elvedin Okerić (NIP) rejected the request of 13 KS Assembly deputies for an urgent session of the KS Assembly on the security situation.

He was against the urgent session because he believes the security situation is satisfactory.

The heads of the clubs of the Party for BiH, SDA, DF, Muamer Bandić, Mahir Dević, and Albin Zuhrić, will hold a meeting today to consider the possibility of organizing a session. According to the Rules of Procedure, one-third of the deputies can convene a session with the help of the secretary of the KS Assembly when the speaker and deputy speakers of the KS Assembly refuse to do so.

The initial request was signed by 13 opposition deputies after the murder of 19-year-old Faris Pendek in the Otoka neighborhood occurred in Sarajevo. He was cold-bloodedly murdered by Adem Šuman, who was remanded in custody, as were his two accomplices.

Two nights ago in Sarajevo, a minor was hit by a car in the Socijalno neighborhood, and a foreign national fled the scene. After the police identified him and issued him a misdemeanor order, it was announced on Sunday from the Police Administration of the KS Ministry of Internal Affairs that S.L. was nevertheless deprived of his liberty by order of the KS Prosecutor's Office.
