(Patria) - The Office of the High Representative in BiH (OHR) reacted today because the BiH Council of Ministers has still not acted on the instruction of the OHR, i.e., High Representative Christian Schmidt, to adopt laws that would resolve the financing and sustainability of cultural institutions of state importance.
"One month after issuing the Order supporting the functioning of cultural institutions of importance to Bosnia and Herzegovina, High Representative Christian Schmidt once again reminds how crucial it is for the Council of Ministers to show focus, determination, and responsibility in adopting a solution that will eliminate the long-term challenges these institutions face:
The Council of Ministers must find an appropriate and sustainable solution to this issue within the given deadline to ensure the legal and financial stability of these cultural institutions. Otherwise, it would jeopardize the preservation of the common heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
If the necessary conditions are met, these institutions – guardians of BiH's identity and history – will be in a much better position to fulfill their mission of preserving and enabling access to this heritage for future generations, which is of utmost importance for BiH."
