OHR Welcomes New Sanctions Against RS Officials

(Patria) - The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control has placed Željka Cvijanović, Nenad Stevandić, Radovan Višković, and Miloš Bukejlović on its 'blacklist'.

The OHR also commented on its official Twitter account.

“The OHR welcomes the measures taken by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to strengthen the rule of law and protect the constitutional and legal order in Bosnia and Herzegovina from brazen attempts to undermine the work of institutions, as well as the country's stability and reforms achieved so far.

“It should not be surprising that state and entity officials who contributed to the adoption of laws in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska with the intention of attempting to undermine the authority of the Constitutional Court of BiH are facing sanctions, as their actions were in direct contradiction to the BiH Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement, also thereby violating the rule of law at a time when Bosnia and Herzegovina has been given a generational opportunity to take concrete steps towards full membership in the European Union,” they stated.
