OHR annuls first round of voting for Mostar City Council

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Office of the High Representative has decided to annul the results of the first round of voting for the Mayor of Mostar, and ordered a repeat of the first round, Večernji list reports.

The Mostar City Council held a public vote for the mayor on Friday.

At that time, candidates Mario Kordić from the HDZ BiH and Zlatko Guzin from the SDA advanced to the second round, while Irma Baralija was eliminated from the race.

A total of 31 councilors decided that the vote for the Mayor of Mostar should be conducted by secret ballot. The High Representative made a similar decision in 2009, when he ordered a secret ballot to elect a new mayor of the city on the Neretva River. We also present the High Representative's decision sent to the Mostar City Council.
