OHR on conclusions of the National and University Library: Schmidt will not hesitate to take necessary measures

(Patria) - The latest and obvious attempts to politicize a court case in order to endanger the constitutional order of BiH are extremely worrying, considers High Representative Christian Schmidt.

The Office of the High Representative (OHR) points out that the abuse of RS institutions in the interest of one person represents a dangerous step backward.

"It is in the interest of all citizens throughout BiH - whether in FBiH, RS or Brčko District - that local political leaders and the international community, including institutions established by Dayton - the High Representative and EUFOR - act in a way that ensures respect for the BiH Constitution and the continuous stability and progress of BiH towards Euro-Atlantic integration.

The High Representative continues to closely monitor the development of the situation and will not hesitate to take measures he deems necessary to ensure the implementation of the Peace Agreement throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and its entities.

Everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina must understand that no individual is above the law. Everyone, regardless of their name or the position they hold, has the right to a fair trial, but also has the obligation to respect court decisions. That is the essence of the rule of law," the OHR announced this evening.
