OHR on January 9th: Regulate RS Day in Accordance with BiH's Constitutional Framework

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On the occasion of today's marking of January 9th, the unconstitutional day of Republika Srpska, the Office of the High Representative in BiH also made a statement.

"The Constitutional Court of BiH ruled on the compliance of January 9th, 1992, as the day of the proclamation of the Serb People's Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the Constitution of BiH and determined that the marking of that day is unconstitutional.

We wish to reiterate our previously stated position that the OHR is not against RS having its own day, but that this must be regulated in accordance with BiH's constitutional framework. Furthermore, we call on all politicians to show responsibility and refrain from negative rhetoric and actions," stated the OHR.
