(Patria) - Nermin Ogrešević, president of the People's European Alliance of BiH, commented on the current political situation in BiH and the work of the state coalition, ahead of the session of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly. NES has two state representatives, and they refused to be part of the state coalition because of Milorad Dodik, and then they refused to enter the government at the level of the Federation of BiH because of Dragan Čović.
Ogrešević pointed out that it would have been normal for some things to have been agreed upon by now, rather than waiting just for the session to be held.
"Neither the agenda nor what will be voted on is known. That is an indicator of the environment in which we live and operate. We 'function' in an abnormal way, and these announcements, which make no sense in a normal atmosphere, are an indicator. We can sum up the results, and they show that we have no results. We have a worse situation than before. The correctness of our stance when we refused to be in government with the SNSD is confirmed, because our assessments were as follows – that we are only creating wind in the sails for Dodik to block with his policy and create an atmosphere of nervousness. The Troika with Konaković was explicitly interested in sitting in chairs without any mission. They entered that government thinking it was important to build their careers. They are not dealing seriously with the situation. We, as a different party, should have defined firm positions," said Ogrešević for Hayat TV.
He says he expects nothing from the meeting of the ruling coalition scheduled for next week, believing that Dodik will not change his policy.
"That matrix will not change; it is only becoming more aggressive. Dodik said he would carry out a general mobilization in the RS, and I see that Belgrade supports that. Therefore, he is ready to put the Serbian people in front of himself, defending and saying that the interest of the Serbian people is threatened, but in fact he is only defending his own interest. He does not respect laws and handles millions, destroying state institutions," Ogrešević said.
SDA President Bakir Izetbegović stated yesterday that the Troika parties are preparing to make "irreparable" concessions to the HDZ and SNSD, citing state property, the Election Law, and the Constitutional Court of BiH. Ogrešević believes that the Troika parties have already made concessions.
"It was announced that a Bosniak would be the director of the Indirect Taxation Authority, and they said they would not give in, but they did. We see that the HDZ got the highway, the Environmental Protection Fund, and has established a trend, and it is justified to fear that they could cross the last lines. What I repeat is that in BiH, forces that do not want a democratic state do not allow it to function and for all peoples to realize their interests. Politicians from the RS and representatives of the Croatian people have the opportunity to secure a position where things at the state level must be harmonized, but they do not want that. If Dodik's policy were normal and he wanted us to deal with key issues, we would not need international mediators. His policy is destructive. Based on Dayton, international guarantors have an obligation to act. Everything he attacks under international law are established actors, and they have an obligation to preserve peace," Ogrešević stated.
He said he does not know whether the judiciary will have the courage to confirm the indictment against Dodik, because it has not had it so far.
"I believe our judiciary is compromised, and we will see what happens. I would agree with those who say there were elements to initiate proceedings against Dodik for violating the constitutional order and disrespecting the decisions of the Constitutional Court. I think that did not happen now in this case, but it hasn't happened before for some things either. We have had this narrative for 30 years, and it is a constant. We are subjected to humiliation and insults; we are Muslims and not Bosniaks. What kind of theses and messages are those? They cannot bring us anything good. What I advocate is that we must respond to insults in a dignified manner, but we must respond," said Ogrešević.
