Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton speaks out about unannounced traffic blockades

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Following yesterday's blockade of roads in the center of Sarajevo, and possibly organized blockades in the coming days, the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton has issued a statement.

- Police officers of the Police Administration on June 10, 2018, during the traffic blockade caused by drivers' dissatisfaction with fuel prices, recorded vehicles whose drivers stopped traffic at the intersection of Zmaja od Bosne – Fra Anđela Zvizdovića – Vrbanja and Maršala Tita streets, and in the coming period, a check of vehicle owners will be carried out, and legal measures will be taken against persons who participated in the traffic stoppage at the mentioned intersection.

At the same time, we inform all traffic participants that police officers of the Police Administration will, in the future, take legally prescribed measures and actions against all traffic participants who, by their behavior, disrupt the normal flow of traffic and in any way contribute to illegal and unauthorized traffic stoppages.

Also, appropriate measures will be taken to enable traffic flow on alternative routes, especially when it comes to emergency medical vehicles and other vehicles with right of way - stated the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton.
