Valentin Inzko Speaks Out: Dodik is Playing with Fire

High Representative Valentin Inzko stated that the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, is playing with fire if he does not intend to abandon the referendum on the Day of RS, reports the Patria News Agency.

Inzko told the Belgrade-based Politika that holding the referendum would have serious consequences for BiH and the region, stating that it would contribute to the destabilization of BiH.

- Countries in the immediate region, as well as the wider international community, are aware of this. It is time to move towards de-escalating tensions, returning to legal procedures, and fostering an atmosphere of constructive dialogue. The path to a solution is quite simple: respect for the country's constitutional framework and its institutions. I dream of countries that speak the same or similar languages using this incredible advantage to accelerate their steps towards the future, says Inzko.

Otherwise, he adds, steps will be taken by the citizens, who, as he says, are "already leaving in droves".

- Who would want to live in countries with conflicts and slow progress, but also with potentials similar to a diamond mine? Let's finally utilize these diamonds, the great talents of our beautiful and incredibly rich southeastern Europe, says Inzko.
