26,400 counterfeit Ray Ban glasses seized

Officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority in Sarajevo temporarily seized 26,400 pairs of sunglasses, as it was discovered they were counterfeit products of the well-known global brand Ray Ban. Considering that the price of sunglasses from the mentioned manufacturer in Bosnia and Herzegovina ranges around 300 BAM per pair, it is estimated that the total market value of the seized counterfeit glasses is approximately 8 million BAM, announced the UIO BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- Through a detailed inspection of a shipment from China temporarily stored in a public customs warehouse in Sarajevo, officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority discovered a violation of intellectual property regulations. The shipment, which arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina from China, contained 26,400 pairs of sunglasses of the well-known global brand Ray Ban. During the detailed inspection of the shipment, the Authority's officials suspected that these were counterfeit sunglasses from the renowned global manufacturer. The authorized representative of the intellectual property rights holder was informed of everything, and they confirmed that these were counterfeit goods and will further undertake measures within their jurisdiction - it was announced.

The goods in question were intended for an importer from Gradačac, and their final customs clearance was to take place at the Sarajevo Customs Office.
